Two days, two locations – ZMF and Hörsaalzentrum of the Medical University of Graz

This slogan guided through the Joint ZMF & Doctoral Days. It was the second corporate event of ZMF and the PhD Faculty of the Medical University of Graz.

The scientific event focuses on the key aim to stimulate interdisciplinary discussion leading to increased collaboration and networking and offers the opportunity to researchers to present their results and put into discussion.

Four internationally renowned Guest Speakers were invited to give an overview of top issues in scientific research in the field of Molecular Medicine and Neuroscience:

  • Eckhard Wolf: Gene Center, LMU Munich

  • Clare Lloyd: Imperial College South Kensington

  • Xavier Golay: Institute of Neurology, National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery London

  • Hermann-Josef Gröne: DKFZ Heidelberg

Lively discussion after the presentations as well as during the evening event with jazz music by the Agata Pisko Trios led to an increased exchange of ideas and new projects.

On the first day the new PhD students were invited to give a short introduction of themselves and were cordially welcomed by their new colleagues. On the second day the best poster and presentation were awarded.

Approximately 250 people joined the Joint ZMF & Doctoral Days 2010 which is a highlight within the academic life of the Medical University of Graz.
