Dr. Giuseppe Argenziano graduated in 1992 at the School of Medicine, University Federico II in Naples/Italy and obtained the specialization diploma in Dermatology and Venereology in 1996. Nowadays he is Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Department of Dermatology, Second University of Naples, in Naples/Italy.
His main research field is the clinical diagnosis of melanoma and, particularly, the development of more accurate methods for the early recognition of melanoma. He is author of numerous scientific articles concerning dermoscopy for the diagnosis of pigmented skin lesions and early recognition of melanoma. He is also author of 3 books on the subject. Dr. Argenziano is Secretary of the International Dermoscopy Society and is the Congress Secretary of the First Congress of the International Dermoscopy Society in Naples in April 2006 (http://www.dermoscopy-ids.org/).

Dr. Andreas Blum studied medicines in Münster/Germany, Lille/France and Tübingen/Germany and received his MD degree in 1993. From 1993 until 2004 he worked in the Department of Dermatology, University of Tübingen/Germany. In 1998 he finished the specialisation in Dermatology and Venereology. Since 2002 he is senior lecture, assistant professor and since 2006 associate professor of the University of Tübingen/Germany. Since 2004 he worked in his private and teaching practice in Konstanz/Germany.
Dr. Blum is an expert in the diagnosis, surgical treatment, prevention and follow-up of skin cancers. In addition to his clinical research mainly in the field of dermoscopy, he gives regulary lectures for national and intertional dermatological societies.

Dr. Ralph Braun did his studies in Homburg Germany and graduated in 1995. He joined the department of Dermatology of the University Hospital Geneva for his residency in 1995. Since March 2007 he is working at the department of Dermatology of the University of Zürich. He is a board certified Dermatologist of the Swiss Society of Dermatology and Venereology and currently the director of the Dermato-Oncology program of the Department. He is in charge of the Melanoma and the Pigmented Lesion Clinic. His main field of interest is the non invasive diagnosis of melanoma and mainly dermoscopy. He is the co editor of several books on dermoscopy and skin cancers and the authors of the following medical publications:

Dr. Josep Malvehy graduated in 1992 at the Faculty of Medicine of Barcelona in Spain and obtained his specialization diploma in Dermatology and Venereology in 1996. He is the director of the melanoma Unit at the University Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, in Barcelona, Spain.
His main research field is the melanocytic tumors and melanoma and particularly the study of new diagnostic tools for the evaluation in vivo of skin tumors based in dermoscopy, confocal microscopy and other techniques. He is also involved in the genetic research of melanoma and susceptibility.
He is author of different scientific articles on dermoscopy and main author of 2 books in this field. Dr.Malvehy is member of the board of the International dermoscopy society. His main teaching interest is dermoscopy of skin tumors being the organiser of multiple national and international courses in dermoscopy and lecturer in multiple national and international meetings.

Dr. Ashfaq A. Marghoob is an expert in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cancers of the skin. He received his MD degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1987 and completed residencies in family medicine and dermatology at SUNY-Stony Brook's University Hospital. He completed a fellowship in melanoma at New York University Hospital. Dr. Marghoob is currently working at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centers in Manhattan and is the director of the outpatient Memorial Sloan-Kettering Skin Cancer Center in Hauppauge (Long Island). In addition to seeing patients he is also involved in clinical research and has published many papers on topics related to malignant melanoma, dysplastic nevi, congenital melanocytic nevi, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma. Much of his research interests are focused on early recognition of skin cancer by utilizing imaging instruments such as dermoscopy and confocal laser microscopy. He frequently lectures on these topics both nationally and internationally.

He is board certified dermatologist (2002) and dermatopathologist (2004). Special areas of interest and research include dermatopathology, dermato-oncology, general dermatology, telemedicine and teledermatology. Inaugural Professor of Dermatology at the University of Queensland, in Brisbane/Australia. He has come to Queensland from the Medical University of Graz, in Austria, where he was Professor of Dermatology and Director of the Research Unit for Teledermatology. Special research areas are clinical dermatology, dermatopathology and dermato-oncology. His main teaching interest is dermoscopy of pigmented skin lesions with special emphasis on the clinico-pathologic correlation. Dr. Soyer has been working more than 20 years in this field and has published numerous articles and a few books on dermoscopy. In 2000 he coordinated the International Consensus Net Meeting on Dermoscopy.
Dr. Soyer is President of the International Dermoscopy Society ( http://www.dermoscopy-ids.org/) and President of the International Society of Teledermatology (http://www.teledermatology-society.org/).

Dr. Masaru Tanaka graduated in 1984 at the Keio University School of Medicine, in Tokyo/Japan. Board certified dermatologist since 1989 and obtained degree of doctor in Medical Science in 1992. He studied image analysis at Department of Dermatology, University of Wales College of Medicine, in Cardiff/UK for two years (1993-1995). Associate Professor (1999-2005) of Dermatology at the Keio University. Dr. Tanaka was the Congress Secretary of the 100th Japanese Dermatolgoical Association in Tokyo in April 2001.
Nowadays he is Associate Professor of Dermatology at the Department of Dermatology, Tokyo Wemen's Medical University Medical Center East, in Tokyo/Japan.
His main research field is the bullous disorders, contact dermatitis, dermatopathology, image analysis and dermoscopy.

Her main research fields are dermato-oncology and dermoscopy. She published more than 80 scientific articles with special emphasis on dermoscopy in international peer-reviewed journals. In 2003 one of her work was awarded by the Hans Weitgasser Preis. From 2003 to 2006 she performed a Research Fellowship Program at the Department of Dermatology, Second University of Naples, in Naples/Italy supported by the Erwin Schrödinger Foreign Fellowship Program of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). Currently she is performing a Research Project (Project number V9-B05; NCT00422448) supported by the Elise Richter Program of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) in collaboration with centers in Vienna, Naples, Barcelona, Modena, New York, and Benevento.
