Research at the Medical University of Graz – future technologies and high-tech now

Research is the major task of the university. Among education of health professionals and first class patient care the medical universities and university hospitals focus on gaining knowledge on diseases and their origin as well as prevention and therapies. This scientific research is the basis for progress in medicine, by investigation of physiological processes, decoding of genes and their functions, development of new surgery techniques and the testing of pharmaceuticals for new medicaments. Today and in its long tradition the Medical University of Graz has been committed to scientific medical research. At the university hospital and in the pre-clinical institutes and centres researchers are working on current topics with state-of-the-art methods and so contribute to medical and biotechnological progress every day.
