Module 14: Knowledge Acquisition, Information and Visualization
This module is compulsory during the 3rd year including Radiology,
Biostatistics, Medical Informatics, Medical Physics, Neurology and
Dermatology. Teaching aims of this module are:
- A fundamental understanding of basic principles of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics.
- Introduction to various methods of Medical Imaging Techniques and their applications
in diagnostics and therapy.
Module 14 is offered 3 times per year (Block 2, Block 4, Block 5). The course
schedule is listed in MEDonline.
Course materials can be found in the Virtual
Medical Campus (VMC), the data for the seminars in Biostatistics are published
on this website.
The written examination is a Multiple-Choice-Test.

Program for students of the Doctoral Program for Medical Sciences. For
advanced students of the Diploma Program for Medicine there is available a
12-month scholarship per academic year for studies at the medical faculty
of the Masaryk University.
For the Bachelor Program for Nursing Science, we offer lectures in Biostatistics
(Statistics I, Statistics II, SPSS). Lectures are held by Alexander Avian, Practicals are held by Regina Riedl, Franz Quehenberger and Gerold Schwantzer. The course schedule is listed in MEDonline.

Content: In this course we outline the usage of SPSS (data input and import,
data operations) as well as performing and understanding statistical analysis.
