Hämophilie
Ziel der pädiatrisch hämostasischen
Forschung ist es, durch
Verbesserung der wissenschaftlichen Grundlagen zum
Fortschritt in Diagnostik und Therapie von
Hämostasestörungen (Störungen der Blutstillung) im
Kindesalter beizutragen: Insbesondere im Hämostasesystem
von Neugeborenen und jungen Kindern bestehen eine Reihe
von Unterschieden im Vergleich zum späteren Lebensalter.
Auch die Prävalenz und das Erscheinungsbild erworbener
Gerinnungsstörungen unterscheidet sich von denen im
späteren Lebensalter. Diagnostik und Therapie
angeborener Hämostasestörungen betreffen vor allem das
Kinder- und Jugendlichenalter.
Schwerpunkte der Forschungsarbeiten sind daher neben der
Abklärung der physiologischen Besonderheiten der
Hämostase bei Neugeborenen Defekte der Thrombozyten und
des plasmatischen Gerinnungssystems, die zu
Blutungsneigung oder Thromboseneigung im Kindesalter
führen, sowie erworbene Gerinnungsstörungen bei
pädiatrischen Erkrankungen. |

Vakzinologie und
Spezielle Infektionskrankheiten
Schwerpunkte der
Forschungsarbeit der Arbeitsgruppe Infektiologie sind
Schutzimpfungen, Meningokokkeninfektionen,
Neuroborreliosen und FSME-Infektionen.
Sowohl im Bereich der
Schutzimpfungen als auch bei Meningokokeninfektionen
wird durch unsere Arbeitsgruppe jeweils eine große
mulitzentrische Studie geleitet.
Durch eine internationale
Kooperation mit Kollegen aus England, Holland und
Frankreich planen wir eine Studie zur Erforschung
genetischer Gründe für das Erwerben und das Auftreten
verschiedener Verlaufsformen von
Meningokokkenerkrankungen bei über 2000 Kindern
durchzuführen. Unseres Wissens nach handelt es sich
hierbei um das größte Projekt, dass es bisher zur
Erforschung dieser Erkrankung gegeben hat.
