Cell Culture Facility

The Cell Culture Facility was established in 2008 and offers a wide range of services and expert technical support related to cell and tissue culture to all researchers of the Medical University of Graz. Our facility is ISO–90001certified, thus ensuring state–of–the–art operating procedures with respect to the culturing and cryo–preservation of cell lines and primary cells as well as the routine monitoring for contamination.

The team of the Cell Culture Facility with its long standing experience and know–how assists researchers with all aspects in cell and tissue culturing. Support is provided throughout the entire research process, i.e. from choosing the appropriate cell system to performing the actual experiments (e.g., cell–based assays).

The Cell Culture Facility maintains its own cryogenic repository of commonly used mammalian cell lines. Researchers of the Medical University can obtain aliquots for a minimal charge upon request. In addition, the Cell Culture Facility provides easy access to cell lines that are available from individual research groups at the Medical University, including associated technical expertise, through the management of an electronic database.

Thus, the Cell Culture Facility is intended to serve as an interactive scientific platform for all researchers of the Medical University of Graz and their partner groups.
